Your GA4 looks ok but your data doesn't 'Feel Right'

Many GA4 setups are still "basic setups" that make it quite hard to access key insights, and most businesses running them don't know it. The migration from Universal Analytics was rushed, events fire inconsistently, conversions don't match the back-end and the team has quietly stopped trusting the dashboards.

Between incorrectly added cookie banners, multi year agency tech debt, and browsers and ad blockers eating your data a meaningful chunk of your real conversions never reach your reports. Your paid campaigns are optimising on incomplete data, and GA4 simply isn't designed to raise an obvious flag telling you that.

Almost every client i've spoken with has started with "it just doesnt feel right" and 9 times out of ten a quick clean up in less than a weeks turn around completely fixes your account. .

Where I help is breaking down your setup for you so you can understand what you need to know, before I jump in and fix the real problems leaving you with numbers you can actually rely on, empowering you to make data informed decisions in your business with confidence.

Common symptoms

Conversions in GA4 don't match Stripe, Shopify or your CRM. Reports contradict each other. Paid spend is hard to attribute. 70% is "Direct" or even worse, unassigned. Form submissions sometimes fire twice, sometimes not at all. No one on the team can confidently answer "where does most of our business come from"

Who this is for

Aussie small businesses, running ads or just trying to understand how users engage with their app or website. Ecommerce looking to attribute their conversions, or any business trying to grow leads. Paid Ads is now all about good conversion data, and it's what I love.

Who it isn't for

Simply anyone who doesnt care that much about where their sales are coming from, I can help you out with a basic setup or a quick review but you'll get more out of it if you care about increasing your conversion rate and improving your visibility of where your sales are coming from.

Three Ways to Fix Your GA4 Tracking

01

GA4 & Tracking Audit

A written review of your existing GA4 and Tag Manager setup. Where the data is wrong, where it's missing, what to fix first and what's not worth the effort. You keep the report and the prioritised fix list. Typical turnaround is one to two weeks. This will eliminate any feelings of "my data doesnt feel right" even if it ends up your setup is ok (it rarely is) afterwards you can also engage me to get in and fix at a reduced rate.

GA4 Setup or Rebuild

A bit more efficient, if you're not after a audit and you're happy after our 30 minute call, I can jump in and clean up your your web analytics and document the changes on the other end. You walk away with a clean GA4 property, tidy gtag destinations, a properly structured Tag Manager container with no tech debt (clean slate) and confidence that your data is as close at it can get to perefect.

03

Server-Side Tracking

If you're serious about Google or Meta Ads, Server-side tagging through Stape routes your conversions through your own infrastructure and meaningfully improves what your reports actually capture (Google says 11%, I've seen as high as 20%) Again, documented for your team and more efficent.

Free 30-min health check

A short Google meet where I look at your current GA4 with you, (don't even need to give me access) I'll flag the obvious problems and give you a straight answer on what you actually need.

02

Fixed scope and quote

Within a few days you get a written scope, a fixed price and a timeline, so you know exactly what's being delivered, by when and what it costs before any work starts.

03

Implementation, not handoff

Most analytics consultants hand you a 30-page report and disappear. My works brief and practical, and you're talking to the guy who will implement the fix themself, senior delivery, and engagements typically run two to four weeks end-to-end, but in one day a week catch ups if needed.

04

You keep the documentation

Every engagement ships with written documentation, a tagging plan and a measurement spec your next team can actually read. The goal is to make me eventually unnecessary, not indispensable.

What clients say.

It's so refreshing to meet someone who is so deep on all of this stuff. It's been really invaluable what you've been helping us out with. I'm very pumped to get some numbers that we can finally rely on.

Marketing lead, B2B Saas & Training Provider, after rebuilding GA4 and server-side tracking

Common questions.

Do I actually need server-side tracking?

Not always. If you're spending under $5k a month on paid acquisition, the signal loss probably isn't worth the implementation cost yet. If you're spending more than that, or your audience skews technical, ad blocker usage is high and the recovered conversions usually pay for the project several times over. The free 30-minute health check is the right place to work that out.

How much does a GA4 setup cost?

Audits start at $1,500. Full setups and rebuilds start at $3,500 and typically land between $3,500 and $5,000 depending on the complexity of your ecommerce events and how many platforms need to feed into the tracking. Server-side implementations start at $7,000. You'll have a fixed quote before any work starts.

Will this work with Shopify, WordPress, Webflow or a custom build?

Yes. GA4 and Google Tag Manager are platform agnostic. I've implemented on Shopify, WooCommerce, Webflow, custom Next.js builds and just about everything in between. Server-side GTM through Stape works across all of them. Shopify comes with additional costs depending on requirements, and if you're just after ecommerce I'll typically steer you towards shopify setups unless your site is hybrid ecommerce and lead generation in which you'll likely need tags for form tracking. If you're on shopify Plus GTM is definitely the way to go, but not everyones paying that $2k+ a month fee, and if you're a regular shopfiy user often a clean ecommerce config with no interfereing scripts is all you need to get more insight into the channels driving sales.

Are you GDPR and Australian Privacy Act compliant?

The implementations I deliver are designed to be. Every setup includes a consent management review and every audit checks your cookie banner and consent flow against the Australian Privacy Principles, plus GDPR if relevant traffic is involved. I don't write legal policy, just ensure your technical layer is solid. A lot of sites are not compliant in spite of tools (i recommend) like OneTrust or Complianz already being setup. I can check this for you, and fix or point your team at the problem areas.

What's the difference between an audit and a rebuild?

An audit is a written diagnosis. You get a report with prioritised fixes and you, your team or another agency implements them. A rebuild is me doing the implementation. Most clients audit first to scope the work, then either commission the rebuild or use the report to brief their existing dev team.

Do you work outside Newcastle?

Yes. Based in Newcastle, NSW. The work is fully remote, with engagements across Australia and a small number of international clients.
